Saturday, Nov. 4,5 & 6, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. — CFMS Gem and Mineral Show $12 for the whole family; children under 16, free.  Phone (925) 289-0454. Gem and mineral show with exhibitors featuring jewelry, tools, equipment and supplies plus beautiful gems and minerals. This Gem & Mineral Show is arguably the country’s largest, with 25 dealers showing and selling rocks, fossils, precious and semi-precious stones, minerals, settings, beads, and equipment. With more than 50 displays that tell the tales of our planet, skilled craftsmen demonstrating their techniques like cabochons, wire wrapping, stone carving and faceting. The especially popular fluorescent room contains hundreds of glowing minerals and rocks that appear to vibrate in black light.

Tuesday, Nov. 7, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Concord’s Todos Santos Plaza — Farmers’ Market is open year-round, rain or shine. Featuring items for a yummy and healthy lunch plus a range of farm-fresh fruits, vegetables and nuts to take home. 1-800-949-FARM

Nov. 4, 5:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. – Sequoia Middle School Parent Faculty Club’s adults only Annual Auction & Dinner, at the Concord Hilton, 1970 Diamond Blvd. Doors open at 5:30 p.p. and dinner begins about 7:30 p.m. This year’s theme is the Fabulous 50’s Sock Hop, and all guests are invited to dress in 50’s attire. Through Oct. 19, tickets are $60 per person.

Nov. 3, 8 to 9 a.m. — Chamber of Commerce First Friday Coffee Connect – Join Chamber members and others for coffee and networking on the first Friday of the month. Sam’s Club Concord, 1225 Concord Ave.  Free to members, $10 for non-members.

Nov. 6, 5 to 8 p.m. –Every Monday — Off the Grid Food Trucks @ Todos Santos Plaza. A new Monday dinner spot in Concord, on Grant Street between Salvio Street and Willows Pass Road, features a rotating lineup of eight food trucks plus live music from local bands and musicians.

Nov. 9, 9:15 to 11:30 a.m., at the Concord Senior Center 2727 Parkside Circle –  Free Advanced Health Care Directives for Seniors — members of AIG’s Legal Department and the nonprofit Contra Costa Senior Legal Services partners with the City of Concord to provide a free legal clinic for seniors 60 and older living in Contra Costa County. A lawyer will meet for 45 minutes with seniors to prepare an Advance Health Care Directive specifically tailored to the senior’s wishes, and then notarized for free. These legal documents help ensure your health care wishes are known if you can’t to speak for yourself, and appoints an agent to make health care decisions for you. To sign up for a free legal appointment, call the Senior Center at (925) 671-3320.

Nov. 9, 7 to 9 p.m., Every Thursday, at Concord’s Denny’s Restaurant, 1313 Willow Pass Rd. — Diablo Toastmasters Weekly Meeting. Free.  Come and see how Toastmasters can help you learn to speak and lead with confidence, take your career to a new level, meet new people,  make new friends in a fun environment.

Nov. 13 through Dec. 10 – Be a Santa to a Senior – provide holiday cheer to a lonely and financially needy senior who might not otherwise get anything otherwise. Pick an ornament tag, buy gift wishes and return with tag to the Senior Center, 2727 Parkside Circle; Min’s Kitchen, 3505 Clayton Rd.; Minamoto Japanese restaurant, 4305 Clayton Rd.; City of Concord Civic Center, 1950 Parkside Drive; Curves for Women, 2962 C Treat Blvd.; Concord PD, 1350 Galindo St. or The Old Spaghetti Factory, 1955 Mt.
